The Eastern and Southern Africa small scale Farmers’ Forum– ESAFF, is a network of small holder farmers that advocate for policy, practice and attitude change that reflects the needs, aspirations, and development of small-scale farmers in eastern and southern Africa. ESAFF works with its members in Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, and Mozambique as well as Seychelles, South Africa Zambia and Zimbabwe. ESAFF is registered in Tanzania under Non-Governmental Organisations Act 2002 and its office is based in Morogoro, Tanzania.

ESAFF, a network of farmers’ groups in Tanzania (MVIWATA) and GRET of France, have received a grant from European Union to implement a project “Involving small scale farmers in policy dialogue and monitoring for improved food security in the East African Region”. The project is implemented in the Eastern African countries; Tanzania, Kenya Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.

Brief job description
Networking, Communications and Information and Technology (IT) Officer plays a critical role within the organisation. Is responsible for the ‘look and feel’ of the organisation, making sure members communicate among themselves and that ESAFF important work is clearly presented to members and key public and internal audiences through various channels (website, social media, Newspapers as well as  Radio and TVs stations in Eastern and Southern Africa).

Qualifications required
•    University Degree in Journalism,  Agriculture or International Affairs
•    Information technology: graphic design, website design and networking
•    French language (a must)
Skills required
•    Communication skills and PR,
•    Fluent French language (spoken and written)
•    Website management, Computer Networking,

Experience:
A two year experience of working in a similar position will be of added advantages
