{"id":616,"date":"2017-03-11T08:35:09","date_gmt":"2017-03-11T08:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.esaff.org\/?p=616"},"modified":"2017-03-11T08:35:09","modified_gmt":"2017-03-11T08:35:09","slug":"gender-balanced-leadership-takes-charge-of-esaff-zambia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esaff.org\/index-php\/gender-balanced-leadership-takes-charge-of-esaff-zambia\/","title":{"rendered":"Gender balanced leadership takes charge of ESAFF Zambia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/esaff.org\/images\/2esaff_zambia_leadership_change.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>10\/10\/2015<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Lusaka<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">It is not every day we have a gender balanced leadership in the boardroom.\u00a0 But for E<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">SAFF Zambia<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">, it is a dream come true.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The composition of the board elected to lead the organisation in the next three years is comprised half by women and the other half by men.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Annual general meeting held in Lusaka saw Mr Kenneth Chipoya from Lufwanyama District elected as the new chairman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The new chairman is confident the organisation will effectively advocate for favorable policies and resources for smallholder farmers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">At the same time, he said\u00a0 \u201cWe will work together to increase our membership to cover all regions in Zambia.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Speaking with confidence, he said failure was not an option. Kenneth assured that his leadership would capitalize on positive issues brought about by the past leadership of ESAFF Zambia, to move forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The former leadership under Mzee Mubanga Kasakula led ESAFF Zambia since its inception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The full new leadership of ESAFF Zambia comprises of the Vice Chairperson \u2013 Ms. Mary Sakala, General Secretary \u2013 Mr. Bornface Hangala, and the Secretary for Finance \u2013 Mr. Dickson Siyachongo.
